Candidate Slate for FY21 VALE Executive Committee Election

Public, 4-year Sector (2-year term) – 1 seat

  • Joe Toth, Stockton University
Joe Toth is the Director of Library Services at Stockton University, where he’s been since 2013. He is committed to advancing the collective interests of academic libraries in any way he can, and has served VALE in various capacities in the past. He is willing to do so in the future!

Independent, 4-year Sector (2-year term) – 1 seat

  • * Kurt W. Wagner, Monmouth University
Kurt W. Wagner, University Librarian at Monmouth University, is the 2018-2020 Chair of the VALE Executive Committee. During his two terms on the Executive Committee, Wagner had a significant and hands-on role in the upgrade of the VALE web page in 2017. He led VALE as its relationship with NJEdge developed and VALE and Edge produced co-located conferences in 2020. He also oversaw and supported VALE’s work to promote OER statewide in 2019-2020. Wagner has made continuous contributions to VALE since 2000. He was a co-author of the white paper that led to the VALID Project and chaired the implementation task force that began work on a shared library management system. Wagner’s two decades of work in VALE and his dedication to its ongoing mission and the academic libraries of New Jersey are evidence that he has been and will continue to be a productive contributor to the Executive Committee.

Community College, 2-year Sector (2-year term) – 2 seats

  • Jennie Pu, Hudson County Community College
Jennie Pu is the Dean of College Libraries at Hudson County Community College (HCCC). As chief administrator of a multicampus, urban academic library, she serves on the college’s President’s Executive Council, Dean’s Council and the President’s Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She was most recently appointed to the college’s Return To Campus Taskforce, representing the libraries to explore various timelines and models for offering instruction and services when a return to campus does begin. She is the 2020-2021 President Elect of the Chinese American Librarian Association Northeast Chapter and an Asian/Pacific American Librarian Association Mentor. Jennie holds a MLS from Queens College and New Jersey School Media Library Specialist certification.
  • Donna Rosinski-Kauz, Ocean County College
As the Director of Library Services for Ocean County College, Donna Rosinski-Kauz appreciates VALE tremendously, and would like to give back to the collective by becoming a member of the Executive Committee. She briefly served a few years ago to finish the term of a member who moved away (to Canada, I believe). Serving as part of the Executive Committee is fascinating, important work, and she would like to be able to serve again. With the current crisis we have all flipped our library services to emphasize working and accessing resources remotely, and she is seeing more potential opportunities for our institutions and libraries to partner through VALE. She would appreciate the opportunity to be on the Executive Committee and to help bring new ideas and collaboration forward.

Moderator, any sector (1-year term to complete the vacated July 2019-June 2021 term) – 1 seat
