Open Textbook Network Training Workshops

VALE will host training workshops for representatives from member institutions to increase participants’ familiarity with the nuances related to the issues around open textbook adoption; strengthen presentation capacity for future open textbook workshops; and enhance open textbook program development. Run by Open Textbook Network experts, the workshops are intended for:

  • Library Deans or Directors
  • Librarians involved in OER initiatives or faculty professional development
  • Instructional designers or IT professionals who can support open textbook adoptions
  • Leaders of Centers for Teaching and Learning or other faculty development leaders
  • Administrators charged with leading OER or affordable learning initiatives

Attendance is free but registration is required.
Contact your institution’s Library Dean or Director if you are interested in attending – REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

Two identical full-day workshops will be offered; attendees need only attend one workshop. Registration will be limited to three individuals per campus. Additional attendees will be added to a wait list and contacted if space is available. Individuals from the same campus do not need to attend on the same day.

Each workshop will be an interactive learning environment designed to help attendees:

  • Explore tools and resources for open textbook programming
  • Identify strategies for addressing common challenges
  • Recognize and address obstacles to open textbook adoptions
  • Develop incentives for successful programs on your local campus
  • Network and share ideas with OER advocates and leaders from other NJ institutions
