We’re thrilled to announce that Eamon Tewell will be the keynote speaker at the 2026 New Jersey Academic Libraries Conference (NJALC), taking place on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Kean University. Big Thank You to Research Solutions for sponsoring our Keynote Presentation.

Eamon Tewell is Head of Research Support & Outreach at Columbia University Libraries, where he supports a team of subject librarians and identifies ways to meet the research and learning needs of students and faculty through reference and instruction. Eamon is also part-time faculty in Rutgers University’s Library & Information Science Department, where he teaches the course “Information Literacy, Learning, and Teaching.” Eamon has published and presented on the topics of critical information literacy, library instruction, critical reference practice, and questioning narratives of grit and resilience in libraries, and is a recipient of the Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research.

The NJALC 2026 Planning Committee is delighted to welcome Eamon Tewell as this year’s keynote speaker. His work embodies the conference’s commitment to inquiry, reflection, and action across New Jersey’s academic library community.
