Study team charge

In January 2007, after two meetings of a task force that discussed open-source library systems and the implementation of the Evergreen system by the Georgia PINES public library consortium, a study team consisting of Edward Corrado, TCNJ; Ann Hoang, NJIT; Ann Montanaro, Rutgers University; and Kurt Wagner, WPUNJ was charged with taking a look at the PINES implementation, examining a test installation done at the NJ State Library, and producing a white paper/feasibility study for a similar implementation of a shared ILS, bibliographic and patron database by VALE libraries in New Jersey.

The white paper was accepted by the VALE Executive Committee at its May 29, 2007 meeting. Subsequently, the OLS task force has met and split into two sub-groups: one discussing a proposed business plan for the OLS and the other discussing the OLS functionality and technical requirements.
